Jessica
CPM, LDM, Birth Assistant, Postpartum Provider
Jessica Johnson, born and raised in Oregon, discovered her passion for midwifery with the birth of her first child at a birth center in 2009. This personal experience, combined with her dedication to holistic care, propelled her into years of self-study before she formally pursued her midwifery education. In 2022, she graduated from Birthingway College of Midwifery with a Bachelor of Science. Jessica has since attended numerous community births in both birth center and home settings, deeply believing in the transformative nature of birth and committed to supporting growing families from all walks of life. Since 2022, she has been a dedicated member of Bella Vie Gentle Birth Center, serving as a birth assistant, locum midwife, and postpartum provider.
Residing in Yamhill County with her partner John and their four children, Jessica's life outside of midwifery is rich with activities that connect her and her family to nature and her cultural heritage. She enjoys foraging in the woods, exploring the foggy coast, and engaging in creative pursuits such as sewing, knitting, and painting.
As a Yup’ik Alaska Native and an enrolled member of the Village of Solomon, Jessica is deeply passionate about relearning traditional knowledge and bringing awareness to Indigenous issues. She integrates her cultural heritage into her practice, offering a unique and enriching perspective to the families she supports at Bella Vie. Her dedication to both her profession and her roots makes her a compassionate and knowledgeable midwife, ready to guide families through the profound journey of pregnancy, birth and postpartum.
