Desiree LeFave embarked on her journey into the world of birthing in 1998 when she began serving as a doula. Simultaneously, she pursued her education at the Christian College of Midwifery, laying the groundwork for her enduring commitment to maternal care. In 2001, she achieved professional credentials through the PEP Process of the North American Registry of Midwives.
Over the years, Desiree has played an integral role in the delivery of over 800 babies, witnessing the first breaths of many newborns at Bella Vie. Desiree co-founded Bella Vie Gentle Birth Center with her dear friend Petra, in 2007. Assuming the role of practice manager until 2016, when life led her to relocate from the Willamette Valley due to her husband's career. Despite the physical distance, Desiree remains deeply connected to Bella Vie, overseeing its intricacies from a distance, dedicating time daily and visiting in person every opportunity she gets.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Desiree cherishes moments with her husband and grown children. Her diverse interests include engaging in Bible study, exploring the realms of natural health, and savoring the joys of travel. A true passion for her craft persists, as she continues to attend births in her home state of Washington. In her moments of relaxation, she finds joy in the companionship of her basset hound, rounding out a life dedicated to the well-being and celebration of new beginnings.
