Michelle Schuller, RN IBCLC

Michelle has been a registered nurse for 12 years and has spent the majority of this time caring for families in various Maternal Child Health roles though she has also served individuals throughout the lifespan in areas including CICU, home health and hospice.

Michelle discovered her passion of supporting families in the prenatal and postpartum periods when she began working as a Postpartum Nurse at Renown Regional Medical Center in Reno, Nevada where over 4,000 babies are born each year. It was in this role that she feels blessed to have had the opportunity to work side by side with IBCLCs and began to develop her enthusiasm and skills in lactation care.

Michelle relocated to Lincoln City, Oregon in 2014 where she continues to live today. There she worked as a Labor and Delivery Nurse in a rural hospital setting and enjoyed teaching Childbirth Education Classes after completing the Childbirth Education Training Program at Bastyr University in 2015. Since then she has also facilitated Prenatal Breastfeeding Classes and Postpartum Support Groups and thoroughly embraces any opportunity to connect families and surround her clients with the village of support that can be so beneficial for their postpartum and parenting journeys.

Michelle has been providing Nurse Home Visiting Services for 6 years and has been an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) for 4 years. She very much enjoys providing education and support to families in the comfort of their own homes. She works diligently to build trusting relationships with families to help them reach their goals and is committed to respecting their decision making authority as the experts in their own unique lives.

Michelle is a fierce advocate for supporting optimal mental health through the transition to parenting which can be a very joyful experience and also quite a challenging one at times. She is thrilled to have joined the Bella Vie team and to share in the experience of not only the birth of the baby, but the birth of the mother and family as a whole.

When Michelle is not working to empower mothers and families she enjoys spending time with her husband, 19 year old daughter, 11 year old son and many pets. She also enjoys expressing herself artistically, teaching ceramics and traveling.
